Professor Durreen Shahnaz

CEO and Founder, Impact Investment Exchange (IIX)

Durreen Shahnaz is a global leader of social impact and impact investing. Born in Bangladesh, Durreen has built an international track record as a social entrepreneur, banker, media executive and academic at institutions, including Morgan Stanley (New York), Grameen Bank (Bangladesh), Hearst Magazines International (New York) and the National University of Singapore. She is the recipient of 2017 Oslo Business for Peace Award, often referred to as the ‘Nobel Prize for Business’, amongst numerous other awards.

Jeremy Nicholls

Former CEO, Social Value International

Jeremy Nicholls founded the SROI Network in 2007 with the mission to change the way the world accounts for value. As Chief Executive he was instrumental in developing the network across the globe as well as developing numerous innovative training and assurance and accreditation services. In 2015 when the SROI Network joined with the Social Impact Analysts Association to form Social Value International and Social Value UK, Jeremy became Chief Executive of both organizations. Jeremy stepped down as Chief Executive in June 2018 but remains a committed member of the network. Jeremy also chairs the British Standards Institute’s social value subcommittee and is a member of the IRIS advisory committee, the Social Value Taskforce and the Social Stock Exchange admissions panel. He has lectured at several Universities including the Said Business School at Oxford University, Hult International Business School and the University of Western Australia.

Professor David Musto

Ronald O. Perelman Professor in Finance, The Wharton School

David K. Musto is the Ronald O. Perelman Professor in Finance at the Wharton School, where he has been on the faculty since 1995. He also served as Senior Financial Economist at the Securities Exchange Commission from 2005 to 2007 and is on the advisory board of Human Interest. He has a B.A. from Yale University and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, and between college and graduate school, he worked for Roll and Ross Asset Management in Culver City, CA. Most of his work, both theoretical and empirical, is in the area of consumer financial services, mutual funds, and consumer credit in particular. He has also published work on corporate and political voting, option pricing, short selling, and cross-border taxation.

Sara Olsen

CEO & Founder, SVT Group

Sara Olsen is the founder of SVT Group, an impact management firm that provides investors, companies and social enterprises support to measure, manage and communicate their social and environmental impact (e.g. theory of change, impact metrics, impact IT systems onboarding and support, retrospective impact analyses and more). A pioneer in the social capital markets, Olsen and SVT’s team of subject-matter experts have measured the social and environmental value of approximately $9.08 Bn in private equity, debt, and grants in dozens of countries and issue areas. Recent clients include Yo Yo Ma, Restore the Earth Foundation, Fair Trade USA, Global Fund for Women, Beneficial State Bank, and CalPERS’ Environmental Investment Advisor. She is founding board member of Social Value United States and co-chair of the methodology subcommittee of Social Value International; has taught at Stanford Graduate School of Business, Middlebury Institute of International Studies, and others; and is the author of several publications on impact management. Sara earned her MBA from UC Berkeley and MSW from the University of Chicago.
